BOISE, ID Jan. 8, 2024 – ONIT Athlete, an exciting new entrant in the trading card space, generated over $1.6M in NIL payments for student-athletes for fall 2023 men's and women's sports.

ONIT Athlete brought their innovative trading card program to twenty-five universities across the United States. Most of the trading card deals were with major Power Five programs that included Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida St, Washington, and Auburn. Several deals were also done with Group of Five programs that included Boise State and Fresno State.

In addition to structuring deals with football programs, ONIT Athlete also did deals with women's volleyball and soccer teams.

“ONIT Athlete is committed to providing industry leading NIL revenue opportunities for athletes. Our goal is working with over 10,000 athletes in 2024, and paying more than $7 million in NIL payments to collegiate student-athletes,” said Sheridan Hodson, Co-Founder of ONIT Athlete. “ONIT has proven to be the NIL leader in trading card collectibles, and we are very enthusiastic about creating substantial NIL opportunities for athletes on men's and women's teams.”

One of the key factors differentiating ONIT Athlete from other trading card companies is ONIT's focus on doing team deals. ONIT Athlete focuses on team deals where all, or most of the athletes on the team, are included in their trading card sets and paid for their participation.

“We pay the top athletes very well for their participation, and we create a massive win for the athletes and fans by allowing all the athletes on the team to be part of our deals. We never want our deals to divide the locker room. We want our deals to be known for bringing the team together and giving all of the athletes an opportunity to participate in NIL."

In the coming weeks, ONIT Athlete will roll out trading card deals with approximately twenty men's basketball teams, twenty women's basketball teams, and a collection of gymnastics, wrestling and hockey teams. ONIT Athlete plans to work with over two hundred athletic teams at approximately eighty universities in 2024. ONIT Athlete's expansion plans include further expansion with Power Five programs, while also adding more Group of Five programs, HBCU's, and programs outside of Division I.
