CHARLESTON, SC – Bold South Sports, a full-service sports marketing agency at the forefront of NIL representation, headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, proudly announces the historic addition of the University of South Carolina’s Meredith McFadden, the first and only female bullpen catcher for a Division 1, Power 5 baseball team, to its roster. McFadden was also named to the USA Baseball Women’s National Team Top 40 Roster in 2022 and 2023. This signing marks a unique moment in the NIL sports realm, further elevating Bold South Sports' commitment to championing trailblazers and promoting ground-breaking narratives in college athletics.

Meredith McFadden's journey into college baseball is a testament to her passion and determination. She embarked on her baseball career at the age of 4, and her love for the sport only grew stronger. Hailing from Olympic High School in Charlotte, N.C., Meredith stood out as the lone female on her high school's baseball team, showcasing her exceptional skills and dedication. As she pursued her dream of attending the University of South Carolina, she reached out to the USC baseball program, offering her services as a catcher. Last summer, Meredith received a message from the director of baseball operations at South Carolina, inviting her to try out as a bullpen catcher. She eagerly seized the chance and was warmly welcomed into the Gamecocks' baseball family. Since late August of 2022, she's caught thousands of pitches from elite college pitchers. As the first female NCAA Division I bullpen catcher at a Power 5 university, Meredith's story symbolizes the spirit of determination that defines female athletes in sports.

"Meredith isn't just an elite talent on the field; she symbolizes the shattering of barriers and embodies the unwavering spirit and determination of female athletes,” said Tyler Jones, Founder and CEO of Bold South Sports. “Like so many others, we were inspired by Meredith’s remarkable journey, her courage, and her path to Columbia. We are honored to have Meredith on our team and can’t wait to share with the world what many of us already know: Meredith McFadden is special, and her name will undoubtedly become synonymous with baseball for many years to come.
