BOISE, Idaho - (March 13th, 2023): In support of The Horseshoe Collective, Boise State student-athletes and Treasure Valley-area charitable causes, Paddles Up Poké - and owner Dan Landucci - have created a point-of-sale opportunity for patrons of Boise’s top poké restaurant, allowing them to round up their bill and make a direct contribution to The Horseshoe Collective, the two organizations announced Monday.

On the heels of yesterday’s Selection Sunday announcement, with Boise State garnering a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament, proceeds following the initial launch of the round-up campaign will go directly to The Horseshoe Collective’s men’s basketball fund.

“We are always looking for new and innovative ways to utilize Paddles Up as a method to make a difference in the Treasure Valley community,” Landucci said. “As a Boise State graduate and a major supporter of Bronco Athletics, to be able to partner with The Horseshoe Collective and impact both Bronco student-athletes and local charitable causes seemed like an amazing opportunity.”

Paddles Up’s locations in Downtown Boise, Downtown Nampa, The Village in Meridian and The Warehouse in Downtown Boise will all participate in the campaign. Contributions made through the round-up campaign will be directed to student-athletes from different Boise State Athletics programs throughout the year, ultimately growing the reach of The Horseshoe Collective.

“With this campaign, Dan and Paddles Up are not only supporting the mission of The Horseshoe Collective, they’re showcasing to other local businesses how to creatively partner with the collective in an effort to impact local charitable causes and Boise State student-athletes,” The Horseshoe Collective Executive Director Joe Nickell said. “I am appreciative of Dan’s creativity and passion for both Bronco Athletics and our community, and hope other local businesses see this announcement and want to follow his lead in support of what we are building.”

Paddles Up specializes in poké bowls and sushi burritos, and caters to all kinds of eaters; sushi lovers, gluten-free, soy-free, vegetarian, vegan and other dietary needs. Paddles Up prides itself in providing the highest quality ingredients, while keeping the experience quick, affordable and easy.

Paddles Up has been voted “Best of Boise” since 2017, and “Best in the West” by VIA Travel Magazine (2020).

Landucci and his wife, Laura, are Boise State alumni who have lived and worked in the Boise community for the past decade. Dan was voted the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Boise Young Professionals organization and Accomplished Under 40 by the Idaho Business Review.

A nonprofit organization, The Horseshoe Collective endeavors to raise awareness for local charitable causes by pairing them with community-minded Boise State student-athletes seeking to use their Name, Image and Likeness to make a positive impact in our community.
